S. R. Trust, established on 16th November 2011 in Vijay Nagar, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has grown into a multi-faceted, resourceful, and socially committed non-profit organization. Initially registered as a Co-operative Society, the Trust was founded with the vision of empowering persons with disabilities (PwDs) through assistive technology, skill-based education, and rehabilitation services. Over the last decade, it has evolved into a comprehensive community development organization, focusing on inclusive education, healthcare, vocational training, and livelihood generation for marginalized groups, including differently-abled individuals, women, and youth from rural and urban slums.

One of the core strengths of S. R. Trust lies in its pioneering work in disability support. From its early days, the Trust emphasized early intervention, mobility aid distribution, and vocational rehabilitation. It has successfully organized hundreds of health screening and disability certification camps in collaboration with government hospitals and district disability offices, reaching remote villages and tribal pockets of Madhya Pradesh. The Trust has helped thousands of beneficiaries avail government schemes such as UDID (Unique Disability ID) cards, Divyang Pension Yojana, BPL benefits, and assistive device entitlements through meticulous documentation and handholding support.

S. R. Trust has also established skill development centers offering inclusive vocational training for differently-abled youth in trades such as tailoring, computer basics, candle making, paper bag manufacturing, and mobile repairing. These centers are equipped with accessible infrastructure and adaptive learning methods, ensuring that even children and youth with locomotor, hearing, or mild intellectual disabilities can benefit. The Trust’s special education program also focuses on bridging academic learning gaps for children with special needs through individualized support plans (ISPs).

A significant milestone was achieved when the Trust developed a low-cost prosthetic limb fitting unit in partnership with local orthopedic practitioners, benefiting hundreds of amputees who previously lacked access to quality aids. Its community-based rehabilitation (CBR) model has been hailed as a sustainable intervention by local authorities, and it has inspired replications in other districts. The Trust also works on mental health awareness, organizing sensitization programs on autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and emotional well-being for caregivers, school teachers, and Anganwadi workers.

In addition to disability services, S. R. Trust is highly active in the fields of education, health, rural development, women empowerment, and environment. The Trust runs community tuition centers for economically disadvantaged children, facilitates school kit and scholarship distribution, and conducts career counseling programs in rural schools. Notably, in 2023, the Trust launched a campaign distributing career guidance booklets to hundreds of students in government schools across Indore district, focusing on helping rural youth make informed choices post-high school.

On the healthcare front, the Trust conducts free medical camps, maternal health awareness sessions, anemia screening for adolescent girls, and sanitation awareness drives in slum areas and tribal belts. It also promotes Ayush and traditional medicine practices, especially among communities with limited access to modern healthcare. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trust stepped up as a frontline responder by distributing ration kits, masks, immunity boosters, and arranging tele-counseling for distressed families.

S. R. Trust actively promotes women empowerment through self-help group (SHG) formation, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy workshops. It assists women in accessing government welfare schemes such as Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Ladli Laxmi Yojana, and Ujjwala Gas Scheme. The Trust has also trained women artisans in eco-friendly products, enabling them to earn income through local exhibitions and fairs.

With a strong focus on sustainability, the Trust implements plantation drives, solid waste management training, and eco-club formations in schools to promote environmental responsibility among youth. It partners with local municipalities and state-level agencies for programs under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, and National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC).

The organization is led by a visionary leadership team comprising Chairman Dr. C. Anji Reddy and President Smt. Godavari Anjireddy, supported by a dedicated team of social workers, medical professionals, educators, and volunteers. They follow a bottom-up planning model that begins with need assessments, stakeholder consultations, and participatory decision-making. The Trust maintains transparency through regular reporting, social audits, and a feedback mechanism involving beneficiaries and community leaders.

S. R. Trust is listed in various NGO databases such as NGO Darpan, Give.do, and NGO4You, and is known for maintaining high standards of integrity, grassroots presence, and results-oriented interventions. Its commitment to inclusive growth and social justice has earned it appreciation from district authorities, local media, and peer organizations.

In conclusion, S. R. Trust, Indore, is more than just a charitable organization—it is a resourceful, impactful, and future-focused NGO that consistently delivers value to the communities it serves. Whether through its pioneering disability work, transformative education campaigns, healthcare services, or empowerment initiatives, the Trust continues to set benchmarks in grassroots development and inclusive nation-building.
